EUROGENDFOR strengthens counterterrorism specialised training in Mozambique
As part of the Train-the-Trainers programme, the EUROGENDFOR representative deployed with the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique -EUMAM Mozambique- has been working closely with the Mozambican Armed Defence Forces FADM to support instructor preparation and strengthen their training capacity.
In recent weeks, specialised intensive training sessions have taken place, including:
• Strengthening pedagogical skills to enable FADM to independently deliver counterterrorism training;
• Conducting high-intensity practical exercises, such as amphibious operations, detainee handling, tactical site exploitation and live-fire exercises;
• Promoting interoperability between the FADM and other Mozambican security forces, enhancing their joint response to terrorist threats.
EUROGENDFOR’s contribution goes beyond tactics and operational expertise – it also focuses on compliance with international humanitarian law, civilian protection, and a sustainable approach to counterterrorism operations.
EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission with a mandate until June 2026. It supports the FADM with the objective of strengthening the sustainability of Mozambique´s QRF, embedding them within a robust and autonomous operational cycle.
By sharing knowledge and reinforcing local capacities, we remain committed to supporting lasting stability and security in Mozambique.
